Natural Lighting: The best portraits are made from photos taken in soft, natural light (such as near a window or outdoors during the “golden hour”). Avoid using a harsh camera flash, which flattens features and hides the natural shadows I need for depth.
True-to-Life Perspective: Photos taken at eye level are the most engaging. For pet portraits, try to get down to their level rather than looking down at them from above.
